What is the Endocannabinoid system?

The endocannabinoid system is an essential network of receptors that connect the brain to the rest of the body. They effect functions like pain, appetite, moods, anxiety, memory etc.

The body creates its own cannabinoids, called endocannabinoids that helps in regulating those functions. Cannabidiol supplements in keeping the system of receptors to function smoothly. It works in the same manner as taking an extra dose of vitamin C helps to boost our immune system. Similarly, Cannabidiol helps boost and assists the functions of the body’s central regulatory system

Does Cannabidiol get you high?

No Cannabidiol is not a psychotropic substance as it contains zero or minimal trace amounts of the other main cannabinoid that can be found in vijaya leaf extract, namely Tetrahydrocannabinol. What is the difference between Cannabidiol and Tetrahydrocannabinol?

The vijaya leaf extract constitutes of two primary compounds - Cannabidiol and Tetrahydrocannabinol.

Cannabidiol and Tetrahydrocannabinol are significantly different due to its effect on the person because Cannabidiol unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol does not give a sensation of being intoxicated.

Tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive component of marijuana leads to a feeling of sleepiness or drowsiness and can lead to impairing normal reflexes(a common effect of most strains of marijuana), whereas Cannabidiol has no such effects.

On the contrary when both components react together, Cannabidiol actually works against the effects of Tetrahydrocannabinol by reducing anxiety & stress

How does Cannabidiol work within my body?

Cannabidiol reacts with the body through its interaction with the body’s Endocannabinoid system. When a person consumes Cannabidiol, it interacts with the ECS receptors throughout the body. These receptors are responsible for signalling for pain perception, anxiety, stress, and inflammatory responses. Cannabidiol aids in sending these signals to the brain, thus minimizing unnecessary pain or inflammation. When it comes to its interaction with the Human brain, some studies have shown that Cannabidiol stimulates serotonin pathways in the brain, providing relief for anxiety, depression, and migraine symptoms.
